8/12 Crash Maintenance Resolved and Infrastructure Rehaul
We've been busy bees at the PDF2Anki hive! Here’s the buzz on our latest updates:
🛠️ Infrastructure Overhaul & Server Downtime
We experienced some turbulence on 8/12 with server downtime due to an unexpected crash and overload. Our team pulled an all-nighter, and we're happy to report that the issue has been resolved. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused.
🏗️ Backend Infrastructure Rehaul
We've completely re-engineered our backend infrastructure to prevent future mishaps and ensure PDF2Anki can handle the buzz. This major upgrade is all about scalability and protecting against server attacks and overloads.
📊 UI Enhancements - Sidebar and Progress Bar
We’ve introduced skeleton loading for the sidebar and generation number progress bar. Now, you’ll see a preview layout while loading, making for a smoother and more informed user experience.
🔖 Sidebar Icons & Deck Type
The sidebar icons have had a makeover! They now indicate the type of deck you’re working on, so you can navigate and organize it with ease.
😊 Continued Improvements
Simplified User Experience: We've kept the intuitive dual-panel design for easy management of your flashcards.
Dashboard for All Decks: Your multi-PDF progress is still tracked centrally for convenience.
Flashcard History: Due to popular demand, revisiting old flashcards is just a click away.
Cloze Card Type Added: Fill-in-the-blank fans, we've got you covered!
Bug Squashing: Crashes, login issues, and those pesky "None Type" errors are now a thing of the past.
👨🏻💻 Things on Our Agenda
In-built flashcard review system: Quickly review flashcards directly on PDF2Anki.
Delete decks: Due to popular demand, we will look into a delete deck function to help organise the dashboard page overload.
Live streaming generation: Flashcard generation time takes a long time at the moment, we will look into a complete transition of the infrastructure to allow live instantaneous flashcard generation.
Thank you for your continued support and patience. We're a small team with big dreams, working tirelessly to ensure PDF2Anki is the best it can be for your learning journey.
